As the church calendar draws to a close, the Church turns our attention to the prophetic words that point us toward the Last Day. These readings are not primarily about some sort of doomsday picture, but about the reality that all bad things must come to an end. You’ve probably heard it said, “All good things must come to an end.” But the Christian story tells us something different: all the bad things come to an end, while the good things God promises us last forever.
